Tasting - Ogio Sparkling Rose

Image
Name: Ogio Sparkling Rose - Zinfandel  Region: Fossalta Di Piave, Italy  Year: Does not say Price:  $3 for split Wine Blog Review:  The reviews comment how it's a light, sparkling drink that is smooth. They did comment on the acidic finish, but thought it was well priced. Hints of strawberries and raspberry were also tasted. It averaged a 3.6 out of 5.  - Vivino Wine Folly:  On page 189, the zinfandel is known to be fruity. Common tastes are strawberries and blackberries. It also has a cinnamon like taste and pairs well with spicy foods.  Personal Review:  When I first smelt the wine, it has a very dry smell. I smell a hint of strawberry. The smell is almost acidic to my nose. When I tasted it, it was definitely dry but not acidic at all. I was kind of blindsided by the taste. It had a hint of black and blue berries to it and was harsh on the tongue. The after taste was dry and unpleasant. It left my mouth dry and not wanting more. Rate:  3/10
