Tasting - Ogio Sparkling Rose

Name: Ogio Sparkling Rose - Zinfandel

Region: Fossalta Di Piave, Italy

Year: Does not say

Price:  $3 for split

Wine Blog Review: The reviews comment how it's a light, sparkling drink that is smooth. They did comment on the acidic finish, but thought it was well priced. Hints of strawberries and raspberry were also tasted. It averaged a 3.6 out of 5.

Wine Folly: On page 189, the zinfandel is known to be fruity. Common tastes are strawberries and blackberries. It also has a cinnamon like taste and pairs well with spicy foods.

Personal Review: When I first smelt the wine, it has a very dry smell. I smell a hint of strawberry. The smell is almost acidic to my nose. When I tasted it, it was definitely dry but not acidic at all. I was kind of blindsided by the taste. It had a hint of black and blue berries to it and was harsh on the tongue. The after taste was dry and unpleasant. It left my mouth dry and not wanting more.
